A relatively recent bred variety, a cousin of 'Amistad' this lovely plant grows rapidly with bright green leaves and spires of very showy red flowers for many many months over the summer and early autumn.
Easy to maintain needing only one cut back in the spring when new shoots at the base of the plant can be seen. The one pet hate of all these plants is wet feet in the winter, so if you are on a heavy clay soil you must either dig in some horticultural grit into the planting hole or perhaps keep the plant in a container.
